What is IMAP?IMAP is an Internet-based mail account. An example of an IMAP account would be a Gmail account or AOL Mail account. Messages from these accounts appear in folders in the Outlook folder list, under the name of the account.
What is POP?POP is an Internet-based mail account. An example of a POP account would be a Outlook.com account or a Yahoo! Mail account. After you add a POP account to Outlook, messages from the account appear in the folder list under On my Computer.
