SUMMARY

Distribution groups in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server may contain both mail-enabled and non-mail-enabled users within its membership. Users that are homed on the Exchange Server 5.5 computer cannot see non-mail-enabled users in the Member Of list.

This behavior is by design. Non-mail-enabled users are not replicated by the Active Directory Connector (ADC) to the Exchange Server 5.5 directory. Therefore, non-mail-enabled users do not appear on the Exchange 2000 group's membership list.
