Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 environment:
You use Transaction Integrator (TI) to communicate with an application on an IBM host system.
This application sends strings that are padded with trailing space characters to TI.
TI does not truncate the trailing space characters from the strings that it receives.
In this scenario, the trailing spaces are not truncated because the string parameter in the TI method was built with the String Delimiting option set to Space Padded.
Note In Host Integration Server 2006, TI did truncate trailing space characters from strings that it received from a mainframe application when the string parameter was configured to have the String Delimiting option set to Space Padded. This change in behavior may cause issues when you write an application that expects trailing space characters to be removed from received strings.
After you apply this update, you can enable Transaction Integrator to truncate trailing space characters from strings that it receives from a mainframe application.
