SYMPTOMS

When you click a link in Windows Internet Explorer 8 to open a new window or a new tab, nothing happens.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the following registry key is corrupted:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}

RESOLUTION

To fix this problem automatically, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Fix it button or link.
  2. Click Run in the File Download dialog box.
  3. Follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.
