Article ID: 253922 - Last Review: March 1, 2007 - Revision: 4.6 Users' Automatically Created Printers Visible to Other Users
This article was previously published under Q253922 On This PageSYMPTOMSMicrosoft Windows 2000-based clients might be able to see other users' automatically created printers in the Printers window. However, if the Printers window is refreshed, the other users' automatically created printers disappear.
CAUSE
When an automatically created printer is added, it appears in the Printers window for all other logged-on users. The security descriptors on these printers are then changed to special access for only the current user. When this security change occurs, other clients are not notified and the screen is not refreshed.
