SYMPTOMS

When you remove a personal folder from an Outlook profile, the rule continues to run on messages. For example, if you have a rule that moves messages from the Inbox to a folder in the Personal Folders file (.pst), the messages continues to be moved to the Personal Folders file even though the Personal Folders file is disconnected and no longer in the profile. The Rules Wizard also shows this rule disabled.

When you remove a personal folder from the profile, you must also manually remove any rules that run on the Personal Folders file.
