This article describes an update that is available to disable the extra presence information of a user in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2. This extra presence information tells a user whether another user supports audio or video calls in Office Communicator 2007 R2.

Description of the cumulative update package for Communicator 2007 R2: June, 2011

This update package disables the extra presence information. If you want to re-enable the presence information, deploy the following registry settings to all the Office Communicator 2007 R2 clients.

Note You must exit Office Communicator 2007 R2 client before you make the following registry key change.

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
Right-click EnableDynamicAVCapabilityPublication, and then click Modify.
In the Valuedata box, type 1, and then click OK.

Note If you set this registry entry to 1, the presence information is enabled. If you set this registry entry to 0, the presence information disabled.
Exit Registry Editor.
