INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You save the document as a template.
    • You create a new Word document based on the template.
    • You insert the building block into the newly created Word document.
    • You open the style list.

In this scenario, the style list displays many unexpected styles.
  • When you paste plain text that contains many paragraphs into a Word document, Office Word 2007 adds an additional paragraph mark (¶) at the end of certain paragraphs.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You enable the automatic hyphenation feature in Office Word 2007.
    • You add a plain text content control to a Word document.
    • You type some text in the plain text content control.
    • You print the document or save it as a PDF file or an XPS file.

In this scenario, the part of a hyphenated word that is at the end of a line in the plain text content control may be missing.
  • You insert a text form field into an Office Word 2007 document. Then, you save the document as a .docx file. You open the .docx file and try to input text in the text form field. In this situation, you cannot input text.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You use Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System (VSTO) to add XML code to override the Save As button in Office Word 2007.
    • You create a Word document and then click the Save As button.
    • You check the Read-only recommended check box and save the document.
    • You open the document again.

In this scenario, read-only mode is not retained.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You attach a document template to an Office Word 2007 document.
    • You start a new Office Word 2007 application instance.
    • You create another document in the newly started Office Word 2007 application instance.
    • You attach the same document template to the Word document that you created.

In this scenario, you receive a message that is similar to the following:

File in Use. <TemplateName>.dotx is locked by <UserName>.
