Microsoft has discontinued the Microsoft My Phone service (http://www.microsoft.com/myphone) for Windows Mobile 6.x. The following article provides service shutdown details and guidance for users about their data stored to the My Phone service.

SUMMARY

On August 7, 2011, the Microsoft My Phone service stopped synchronizing data between My Phone-configured Windows Mobile 6.x phones and the My Phone service. User data stopped being backed up to the My Phone service. After this date, Microsoft began automatic migration of certain data types from the My Phone service to Windows Live SkyDrive.

As of October 18, 2011, the My Phone website will no longer be available.

Data Migration Overview

On August 8, 2011, Microsoft began automatic migration of users' contacts, calendar entries, SMS messages, and photos from the My Phone service to Windows Live SkyDrive. Both current and archived content was migrated.

Confirmation emails were sent from Microsoft indicating that users' data had been transferred to Windows Live SkyDrive. Users can now sign in to Windows Live SkyDrive with the Windows Live ID they used to register for the My Phone service to review, retrieve, or use their data transferred from the My Phone service.

Certain content types stored to the My Phone service were not migrated to Windows Live SkyDrive on the user's behalf, including videos, music, documents, and browser favorites. Users can request a copy of these files (see details below).
