Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.

This article applies to the following product:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services (SSIS 2008 R2)

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You run Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services (SSIS 2008 R2).

  • You use an XML Source component as a data flow source in an SSIS package.

  • You set the ValidateExternalMetadata property of the XML Source component to False.

In this scenario, the XML Source component incorrectly validates external metadata.

Note This issue also occurs in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS 2008).

Cause

This issue occurs because the XML Source component ignores the ValidateExternalMetadata property.
