Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You enable Microsoft Message Queuing 5.0 (also known as MSMQ 5.0) on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
-
You create a transactional Message Queuing queue on the computer.
-
You add messages and fill the queue.
-
You run a client application that performs a remote transactional read on the queue.
In this scenario, the memory usage of the Message Queuing service (Mqsvc.exe) is at a very high level.
Cause
This issue occurs because a cleanup operation is not performed after the remote transactional read finishes successfully. Therefore, a memory leak occurs.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Registry information
To use the hotfix in this package, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.
Restart requirement
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
