INTRODUCTION

This cumulative update for BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 contains hotfixes for BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 issues that were fixed after the release of BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010.

We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new update release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included in the previous BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 update release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 update.

Prerequisites

To apply this cumulative update package, you must have BizTalk Adapter Pack 2010 or Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Line-of-Business (LOB) Adapter SDK 2010 installed.

Note If a Readme.txt file is included in this cumulative update package, see the Readme.txt file for more information about how to install this update.

Restart requirement

You may have to restart the computer after you apply this cumulative update package.

Installation Notes

This cumulative update package contains updates for WCF LOB Adapter SDK, for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server, and for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack.

To apply this cumulative update package to Microsoft BizTalk Server Branch 2010, download and apply the cumulative update package for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server.

To apply this cumulative update package to one of the following versions of BizTalk Server 2010, download and apply the cumulative update package for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack.

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server Enterprise 2010

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server Standard 2010

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server Evaluation 2010

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server Developer 2010

Notes

  • To successfully install this cumulative update, stop the following services before you start the installation:

    • Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) (Service Name: ENTSSO)

    • IIS Admin Service (Service Name: IISADMIN)

    • Windows Management Instrumentation (Service Name: Winmgmt)

  • If the Windows Management Instrumentation service (WinMgmt) is not stopped, you may receive the following error message:

    Failed to stop service WINMGMT.


    To determine whether there are any WMI processes active, use Windows Task Manager. Or, run the tasklist command from the Command Prompt and check whether "WmiPrvSE.exe" exists.

  • Restart these services when the installation is complete.
