SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You develop a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based image that includes the Error Report Transfer Driver (DwXfer.dll) component (SYSGEN_WATSON_XFER).
  • You run an application that causes an unhandled exception.
  • The thread priority of the application is higher than the configured priority of the DwXfer.dll thread.

Note The priority of the DwXfer.dll thread is configured by the following PollPriority256 subkey:
    HKEY_Local_Machine\Drivers\BuiltIn\ErrorReporting
In this scenario, the start of a configured upload client such as Dw.exe is missing resources, and error reporting does not work.
