SYMPTOMS

The redirector component on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer may stop responding when the computer tries to contact many other computers. Additionally, the features that rely on the redirector component may stop working.

For example, assume that you install System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2007 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based server. In this situation, when there are many client computers in the network, the autodiscovery feature may not work.
