When you enter a phone number for a contact in Microsoft Outlook 2000 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, the number appears as a long, unformatted string of numbers. The area codes, city codes, and country codes do not appear as expected, and a call cannot be initiated from the contact. For example, if you type
4255550187, the number does not display as
(425) 555-0187. If you double-click the number, the
Check Phone Number dialog box appears, and the entire string of numbers appears in the phone number field.
