After you uninstall WinZip in Windows Millennium Edition (Me), the Windows Me Compressed Folders functionality does not work correctly. When you double-click a zipped or compressed file or folder, the Open With dialog box appears, prompting you to choose a program to use to view or decompress the file or folder.
CAUSE
The file association for compressed files and folders is a shared resource in the Windows Me registry. Uninstalling WinZip removes the shared resource from the registry and the file association is lost.
