An update is available that enables the CD drive polling time to be configurable in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3

An update is available for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3. This update allows users to configure CD drive polling time by modifying the registry.

After you apply this update, you can configure the CD drive polling time by using the CDROMPollFrequency subkey in the registry. This subkey is located under the following registry key:
Note The default value of the CDROMPollFrequency subkey is 0x3ED. This equals 1005 milliseconds. Additionally, you can configure the registry in the "[Installation Directory]\public\COMMON\oak\files\common.reg" file.

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as "Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Monthly Update September 2011." In the "File information" section, the package file name contains the product version, the date, the Knowledge Base article number, and the processor type. Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

• On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
• On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
