After your computer recovers from a crash in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 in Microsoft Office 365 Dedicated, you cannot open any draft email message that you were editing before the crash occurred.

This issue occurs because the draft that was being edited is not saved correctly when Outlook crashes.

To recover any draft email messages, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the Drafts folder, and then select Copy Folder on the shortcut menu.
  2. Select Inbox as the target location, and then click OK.
  3. Open the new Drafts folder that is displayed as a subfolder in Inbox.
  4. Double-click the message that you want to continue editing.

Note After the draft email message is recovered, you should delete the copied Drafts folder to avoid confusion.
