When you try to move a mailbox between a computer that is running Exchange Server 5.5 and a computer that is running Exchange 2000 Server, you may receive the following error message:
Task Summary: Move Mailbox Started: [Date and Time] Finished: [Date and Time] Results: Error: Moving messages. CN=[User], CN=[Container], DC=[Domain] The MAPI call failed. MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 80004005-0000-00000000 CAUSE
This issue can occur if the mailbox size exceeds the storage limits (the Prohibit send and receive setting) on the destination Exchange Server computer. The following event is logged in the application event log on the destination server:
Event ID: 8528 Source: MSExchangeIS Description: The Mailbox for /o=[Organization]/ou=[Site]/cn=Recipients/cn=[User] has exceeded the maximum mailbox size. This mailbox cannot send or receive messages. Incoming messages to this mailbox are returned to sender. The mailbox owner should be notified about the condition of the mailbox as soon as possible. WORKAROUND
