SYMPTOMS

Windows 2000 does not place some laptop computers in the C2/C3 power-saving state. This can cause a laptop computer to exhaust its battery in a shorter time period than you expect.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
