Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Excel 2010 hotfix package that is dated February 28, 2012.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Excel 2010 crashes when you call the Workbook.Permissions property by using Visual Basic Applications (VBA) code. This issue specifically occurs when there are no active workbooks in an Excel 2010 file.

  • Excel 2010 may crash when you insert a Scenario Summary that is based on data that is formatted as percentages.

  • Excel 2010 prompts you to save a workbook that includes a chart even when you do not make a change to the workbook. This issue occurs after you close an unrelated workbook.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a Macro that contains the BeforeSave event in a workbook.

    • You share and save the workbook.

    • You open the workbook and enable the Macro.

    • You save the workbook again, and then you use the BeforeSave event handler in the Macro to cancel the save behavior.

    • You try to save the workbook again.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

    Microsoft Excel
This file is locked. Try the command again later.
