SYMPTOMS

When you use an MS-DOS window or MS-DOS-based program, you may be unable to print to a printer that uses a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection.

CAUSE

Epson America has confirmed that some Stylus Color and Stylus Photo series inkjet printers that use USB connections are not compatible with some MS-DOS-based programs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, choose a compatible Epson LQ model or dot matrix printer as your printer. However, the MS-DOS-based program must include a driver for the printer. When you print from a command prompt or lpt1.dos, the port is not supported. If the printer includes both parallel and USB interfaces, connect the printer using a parallel port.
