Introduction

An update is available for Windows CE 5.0 that resolves the following issues.

Issue 1

Consider the following scenario:
  • You run a Windows CE 5.0-based device that is configured as a web server.
  • The web server has the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol enabled.
  • A client uses Windows Internet Explorer to open a page that is hosted on the web server. When the page is opened, you receive the following certificate warning message:
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
In this scenario, the page cannot be opened, and you receive the following message:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
This issue occurs because of a hash inconsistency problem in the Transport Layer Security (TLS) handshake message. The message is created by the server side of the Windows CE web server.

Issue 2

The handshake is not handled correctly for some special kinds of messages. This results in a message decryption failure in the SChannel.
