SUMMARY

This article describes how to obtain and install Microsoft Chat after you install Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1.

When you install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Microsoft Chat 2.5 is not installed on your computer. However, if you install Chat 2.5 before you install Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1, you may be able to use your existing Chat 2.5 client for a limited time on the Microsoft Chat servers.

If you do not have a Chat client installed before you install Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 or you have a version of Microsoft Chat installed, view the following The Microsoft Network (MSN) Web site for information about how to install MSN Chat:
