Remove all manually-created podcast files from your phone before you try to subscribe to new podcasts. To do this, locate the podcast on your phone, tap and hold the podcast icon, and then tap Delete from the menu list.


Here's how to locate podcasts that were manually created:

On your Windows Phone 7:
  1. On Start, tap the Music+Videos tile.
  2. Tap Podcasts, and then tap Video or Audio.
  3. Look for any podcast that is displayed as a shaded thumbnail.
  4. Tap and hold the thumbnail, then tap Delete.

From the Zune software:
  1. Open the Zune software on your computer.
  2. Click Collection, and then click Podcasts.
  3. In the Podcasts list, look for podcasts with the Zune logo.
  4. Click the podcast and then read the text under Details, in the right column: "Couldn't determine the URL for this podcast series. To subscribe to it, select one or more episodes and enter a URL."
  5. Right-click the podcast icon, and then click Delete from the menu list. Connect your Windows Phone to sync the change.
