Article ID: 260305 - Last Review: February 19, 2007 - Revision: 4.3 COMTI Explicit Security Callback Feature Does Not Work on Windows 2000
This article was previously published under Q260305 SYMPTOMS
A COM Transaction Integration (COMTI) program may not work when you attempt to invoke a COMTI method while providing user credentials using the Explicit Security Callback feature. This problem occurs when COMTI is running on Windows 2000, but works properly on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. COMTI is a feature supported by SNA Server 4.0.
NOTE: SNA Server 4.0 Service Pack 3 is the version you should use on Windows 2000. CAUSE
COMTI uses user controlled properties to set the security context of the user. However, the behavior of user controlled properties in Windows NT 4.0 (Microsoft Transaction Server) is different in Windows 2000 (COM1.0). User controlled properties can no longer be arbitrarily set from a component.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
