MORE INFORMATION

You can troubleshoot the error message by using either the FileMon.exe file or the RegMon.exe file.

FileMon is a third-party tool that you can use to monitor file activity. For information about FileMon, visit the following Web site:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896642.aspx (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896642.aspx)
RegMon is a third-party tool that you can use to monitor registry activity. For information about RegMon, refer to the following Web site:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963881.aspx (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963881.aspx)
If you use FileMon.exe or RegMon.exe, note that there are no entries that indicate that Setup.exe started. The system is interrupted before the Setup.exe file opens. Neither Visual Studio nor the MSDN Library is installed.
