After you upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on Windows 2000, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
The above information also applies to Internet Explorer 5.5. CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Active Scripting is, by design, disabled for the Restricted sites zone and the High security level when you upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 on Windows 2000. Although all of the security zones are set to Custom is a problem in Internet Explorer Setup, it does not affect any security settings.
The above information also applies to Internet Explorer 5.5.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, click Default Level for each zone that you want to use the recommended settings or slider for configuring your security settings.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
