Unbinding IPX from One Adapter Disables NetBIOS-IPX Binding for All Adapters

SYMPTOMS

On a computer with multiple network adapters, unbinding IPX from one adapter (while retaining the binding on the others) disables the NWLink NetBIOS binding for the IPX protocol. This occurs even though IPX is still bound to other adapters.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows 2000.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
