SYMPTOMS

After you hot dock and undock an Acer TravelMate 720 laptop computer several times, the computer may stop responding (hang) or perform slowly.

CAUSE

The driver for the Acer infrared (IR) network adaptor causes Windows to stop responding.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, disable the Acer IR network adapter. For information about how to disable the Acer IR network adapter, please contact the computer's manufacturer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
