SUMMARY

Consider the following scenario:
You have a SunOne LDAP store that utilizes custom object classes.
You have configured SharePoint 2010 to import user profiles from the LDAP store.
You notice that not all profiles are imported, specifically profiles that use the custom object classes are not imported.

MORE INFORMATION

The SunOne LDAP contains customized object classes. Custom object classes are not supported through SharePoint.

Also the LDAP schema may not be RFC complaint. The schema may have some auxiliary classes inheriting from a structural class. RFC 4512 section 2.4.3 states "Auxiliary object classes cannot subclass structural object classes”.
