You have Microsoft Office Professional Plus for Microsoft Office 365 installed on a Windows XP-based computer. However, when you try to shut down the computer, the computer does not shut down as expected. You have to follow the shutdown procedure two times before the computer successfully shuts down.
This issue occurs because the Office Subscription Agent service (Osaui.exe) requires the shutdown process in Windows XP to be executed two times. If the Osaui.exe process is running, the first shutdown attempt ends the process but does not shut down the computer. After the Osaui.exe process stops running, the shutdown process must be executed again to complete the operation.
To resolve this issue, end the Osaui.exe process, and then shut down the computer. To do this, follow these steps:
