You cannot add or edit records when you link a replicated Access 97 database in Access 2002

In Access 2002, you can link a replicated Access 97 database and view the data. If you try to add or edit a record, however, you receive the following error message:
Operation not supported on replicable databases that have not been converted to the current version.
RESOLUTION
To add or edit records, you must convert the replica set to the current version. For more information about how to convert an earlier-version replica set to the Access 2000 or the Access 2002 file format, click Microsoft Access Help on the Help menu, type about converting an Access file in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned. You may want to back up the Northwind.mdb file and follow these steps on a copy of the database.
