XWEB: Creating an Exchange 2000 Online Conference with Outlook Web Access

This article describes how to use Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) to create an online meeting on the Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server.

To create an online meeting using OWA, follow these steps:

1. Log on to OWA.
2. Click the Calendar folder, click New, click Appointment, and then click Invite Attendees.
3. Enter the resource mailbox for the resources that you want at the meeting, and then click Send.
4. Check your Inbox for a message from the Conferencing Server confirming or denying the reservation. The conference URL is included in the confirmation message. The following is an example of a confirmation message:
   Your scheduled online meeting was accepted by Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server.
   
   The following link should be sent to all participants to enable them to join this meeting.
   
   HTTP://ConferencingServerName/conferencingid=MeetingID.
   
   If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later, scheduling an online meeting using Microsoft Exchange Conferencing automatically includes this link in your initial meeting request.
5. Forward the meeting URL, or send an update to the meeting request which includes the meeting URL to the meeting recipients.

You can also instruct the meeting recipients to join the conference from the Conferencing Web site. By default, the Conferencing Web site URL is http://ConferencingServerName/conferencing. A list of available conferences can be viewed at: http://ConferencingServerName/conferencing/list.asp

NOTE: When you use OWA, you can only create Public Conferences without passwords, and you must know the name of the resource. Any user who views the Conferencing Web site is able to join the conference.
