SYMPTOMS

When you try to resume your computer after you dock or undock your computer while it is in Hibernation mode, you may receive the following error message, and/or your computer may stop responding (hang):
Windows is unable to undock the computer. Shut down Windows, and then undock the computer. For more information contact your computer manufacturer.

Windows could not find a valid bridge.
If you click OK for the error message, you receive a Hardware Detection dialog box, and then a message that indicates Windows has successfully completed setting up the new "Undocked" computer configuration. If you then double-click My Computer, drive C and D may be the only drives that are available.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do not undock your computer while it is in Hibernation mode. Instead, resume the computer from Hibernation mode, and then undock it.
