Visio 2000 colors change when you change the Colors setting in Windows NT

SYMPTOMS

When you change the Colors setting in Microsoft Windows NT, the colors in Visio may change.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

To temporarily work around this problem, quit and then restart Visio.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.  This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. On a computer that is running Windows NT, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Display, and then change the Colors setting to 256 Colors.
  2. Start Visio 2000, select any template, and then add a few shapes to the page.
  3. In Control Panel, change the Colors setting to True Color. Note that the colors in Visio change.
