Performance Monitor Counters Are Not Displayed Correctly

SYMPTOMS

When adding counters in Performance Monitor, the performance objects are incorrectly displayed. The objects are displayed as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) classes; for example, Process is displayed as Win32_PerfRawData_Perfproc_Process.

CAUSE

The following localized Microsoft Windows 2000 systems are affected:
  • Spanish - Modern Sort (Spain)
  • Finnish (Finland)
  • French (France)
  • Hebrew (Israel)
  • Hungarian (Hungary)
  • Croatian (Croatia)
  • Slovak (Slovakia)
  • Swedish (Sweden)
  • Thai (Thailand)
  • Turkish (Turkey)
  • Vietnamese (Vietnam)
  • Basque

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
