Visio2000: "Visio Internal Error: #-1" Error Message When You Try to Resize a Wall Shape, and Resizing Action Is Not Carried Out

SYMPTOMS

In Visio 2000 Technical Edition, when you try to resize a wall shape, you may receive the following error message two times:
Visio Internal error: #-1
Action 1188 Size object
First try closing and reopening the file. Next try restarting Visio.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.  This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Start Visio 2000 Technical Edition.
  2. Open any drawing.
  3. Place two wall shapes that intersect each other on the page.
  4. Try to resize the horizontal wall by aligning it with the vertical one.

    Note that you receive the error message mentioned in the "Symptoms" section two times, and that the action is not carried out.
