IIS 5.0 May Cause an Access Violation in W3svc.dll When You Use DAV

SYMPTOMS

When you use DAV performance counters, it is possible that Internet Information Services version 5.0 may generate an access violation error message when the DAV performance data has recently grown in size.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Internet Information Server 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
