FP2000: Virtual Servers Not Upgraded to FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade to the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions, all your virtual servers retain the version 3.0x extensions.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the virtual servers are not automatically upgraded when new server extensions are installed.

RESOLUTION

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.


To upgrade the server extensions for all of your virtual servers, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Extensions Administrator.
  2. In the left pane of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), expand the FrontPage Server Extensions folder.
  3. Right-click the computer name.
  4. Point to All Tasks, and then click Upgrade Server Extensions.
To upgrade the server extensions for one of your virtual servers, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Extensions Administrator.
  2. In the left pane of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), expand the FrontPage Server Extensions folder.
  3. Right-click the virtual server that you want to upgrade.
  4. Point to All Tasks, and then click Upgrade Server Extensions.
