SYMPTOMS

After you configure Microsoft Internet Explorer to print by using the duplex feature (double sided) and print a double-sided document, the next print job may be printed single sided.

NOTE: This problem does not occur when Internet Explore is run on Microsoft Windows 2000.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because Internet Explorer does not retain the setting for duplex printing for more than one print job.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, try to configure your printer to use duplex printing by using the Printers tool in Control Panel, or configure your printer in Internet Explorer to use duplex printing before each print job.

NOTE: If it is not acceptable to configure the printer to do duplex printing by default, you can add another printer, which points to the same physical printer, but has duplex printing enabled.
