When you enable directory synchronization on the https://portal.microsoftonline.com/DirSync/DirectorySynchronization.aspx
(https://portal.microsoftonline.com/DirSync/DirectorySynchronization.aspx)page of the Office 365 portal, the page indicates that directory synchronization is enabled. Then, when you install the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync Tool and run the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync Tool Configuration Wizard, you receive the following error message:

(https://portal.microsoftonline.com/DirSync/DirectorySynchronization.aspx)page to view the directory synchronization status and look under 3: Active Directory Synchronization in the center pane, you see that directory synchronization isn't enabled yet.
This issue may occur if directory synchronization isn't completely active yet in Office 365. It requires up to 24 hours from when you enabled directory synchronization for the feature to become completely active. The dialog box that is displayed when you first enable directory synchronization confirms that the activation process started.
To determine whether directory synchronization is active, follow these steps on a computer that has Windows Azure Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell installed:
