SYMPTOMS

When you try to save a document to a Web folder in My Network Places, you may receive the following error message:
You cannot save in the folder you specified. Please choose another location.
This symptom can occur when you try to save a document that you opened in a Web folder or when you use the Save As command to save a document to a Web folder.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you try to save a document from a program that does not support communicating with the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Internet publishing. To save a document to a Web folder, the program must support communicating with the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Internet publishing.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, save the document first to your local computer or to another location and not to a Web folder.

Note After you save the document, you can copy the file to a Web folder in My Network Places.

MORE INFORMATION
