Summary

This step-by-step article describes how to find the Shrink to Fit option in Microsoft Word 2010 and Mircosoft Word 2013. In Word 2010, Shrink to Fit is known as Shrink One Page.

When you write a document in Word 2010 and your document is just a few lines too long to fit onto one page, you can use the Shrink to Fit option (Shrink One Page) to quickly reduce the document to one page. Shrink to Fit will reduce the font size of the document to the point where the document fits on one less page than it would use.

The Shrink to fit command is available in Word 2002, 2003, and 2007. In Word 2010 the option is not available on the ribbon or the quick access toolbar. However, you can customize the ribbon and add the command Shrink One Page to a new or existing group.
