Internet Explorer Starts Slowly When You Have a Very Large PBK File

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start Internet Explorer or an instance of Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer may start very slowly.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you have a very large Rasphone.pbk file on your computer. When you start Internet Explorer, the Rasphone.pbk file must be parsed, and this process can take a large amount of time.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Internet Explorer version 5.01. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
