Visio2000 cannot work correctly after you right-click a Multi State shape in Visio 2000 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click a Multi State shape in a Dataflow Diagram and then click the Stop State command, nothing happens.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

To temporarily work around this problem, use a Stop State shape instead of a Multi State shape.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.  This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. On the File menu, point to New, point to Flowchart, and then click Data Flow Diagram.
  2. Drag a Multi State shape onto the page.
  3. Right-click the shape, and then click Stop State.

    Note that nothing happens.
