Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You have the Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA) feature enabled on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

You install Microsoft Utilities and Software Development Kit (SDK) for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications on the computer.

You use SUA utilities together with wildcard characters against a folder that has more than 101 files. For example, you run the following command to list the text files of a folder that has more than 101 text files.
- ls -l *.txt
In this scenario, SUA utilities may quit unexpectedly.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites
