WD2000: LISTNUM Fields in Text Box Are Printed with Incorrect Numbering Sequence

SYMPTOMS

When you print a Word document that contains LISTNUM fields in text boxes, the LISTNUM fields may not be numbered in the correct sequence between the different text boxes.

For example, when you view your document in print layout view or print preview, the LISTNUM fields may be correctly numbered, as in the following example:

However, when you print your document, the LISTNUM fields may be numbered incorrectly, as in the following example:

WORKAROUND

To prevent this problem, move the object anchor for each text box to a different paragraph.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The LISTNUM fields in each text box are numbered in relation to the placement of the object anchor of each text box. To ensure that each text box is numbered correctly, make sure the text box object anchors are positioned "in order", as in the following example diagram:
