This bug was not fixed... the hotfix was denied for SQL Server 2012 RTM
SQL VSTS Hotfix 886436 = DQS/Discovery/Discovery activity counts and considers values that are of wrong data type data

Support Incident Number
112022474923613

Provide the SYMPTOMS/SUMMARY of the issue

When using SQL Server 2012 Data Quality Services, in the Data Quality Client window, as you run the Data Discovery activity, the Profiler tab show statistics about the source records that have been processed by the discovery.

If the data type of the source value does not match the data type of the domain, such as in the case of a .csv or Excel file where individual values may vary, then the Profiler tab may give misleading statistics about the source data.

For example, if you have a set of 4 values detected by the Discovery activity, but one of the values in invalid, the Profiler tab will display statistics that are inconsistent. There are 4 unique values, and 3 of the values are potentially accepted into the domain as New Values, but the invalid value is still counted in the Unique Values, and Valid in Domain Values, which is not possible to include the value into the domain.

Records: 4

Total Values: 4

New Values: 3

Unique Values: 4

New Unique Values: 3

Valid in Domain Values: 4

What CAUSES of the symptoms
