FIX: MSMQ Previously Used Obsolete Registry Function

SYMPTOMS

Previously, Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) used an obsolete (and dangerous) mechanism to access current user information. MSMQ no longer uses the MQGetSecurityContext function but now uses the MQGetSecurityContextEx function.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
